Majestic Cinema

The Majestic Cinema is a beautiful Grade II listed independent cinema on Tower Street, where historic character meets the latest film releases and blockbuster favourites. First opening its doors on the 23rd May 1928, did you know the Majestic Cinema was built in just eight months?!

Majestic Cinema is proudly family owned, it was first acquired by Paul and Deborah Jervis, their son James is now directing the business.

Over the years, the Majestic has undergone numerous refurbishments and upgrades, introducing more comfortable seating, improved sound systems, larger screens and the latest Christine 4K laser projection in selected auditoriums, while carefully preserving many of its architectural features.

When you visit, take a moment to admire the stunning stained glass windows in the main entrance, the ornate ceilings, the original foyer flooring with the Majestic logo mosaic, and the circle of zodiac signs above Screen 1.

The venue features four unique screens. Screen 1 boasts one of the largest cinema screens in Norfolk, while Screen 2 offers a cosy experience with recliners and loungers at the front. Screen 3 was originally a ballroom, visitors can notice its bouncy floor when you walk in. And, Screen 4 seats 44 guests, plus 2 wheelchair spaces, making it ideal for private hires.

From the latest Hollywood blockbusters and family favourites to live theatre, opera, and special event broadcasts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Majestic Cinema also host a variety of special screenings, including Parent & Baby, Majestic Seniors, Autism Friendly, Mini Mornings and subtitled films.

Alongside competitively priced tickets, guests can take advantage of Meerkat Movies, Blue Light Card discounts, concessions for children and seniors, as well as great value food and drink combo deals.

The Majestic was also recently named Leisure & Tourism winner at the Mayor’s Business Awards 2026!
