Annual Christmas Market returns to King’s Lynn next weekend!

King’s Lynn will warmly welcome an assortment of local traders to its town centre this December for Discover King’s Lynn’s weekend-long Festive Merchants Market.

On Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th December, the Tuesday Market Place will be home to a large, festive marquee housing up to 25 local makers, as well as 4 outdoor, hot food and drink catering trailers.

The Festive Merchants Market, which has been organised by Discover King’s Lynn, will run between 10am and 3pm on both days and will provide the perfect opportunity to purchase unique, handcrafted gifts ahead of Christmas, including clothing, jewellery, homewares and wreaths. Marketgoers can also browse a delightful selection of festive food and drink, including local ales, spirits, preserves and chocolates. Not to mention fresh coffees from Temper & Glaze, mulled cider from Downham Cider, fresh pizza from Pizza Slice guy and loaded fries from Bucket List!

Manager of Discover King’s Lynn Vicky Etheridge said “We are delighted to be organising our 6th Christmas Market in the town. The Festive Merchants Market is a great opportunity to show your support for small businesses and your local high street. Come with your Christmas shopping list and see how much you can buy from traders, town centre stores and of course make sure you leave enough time for a pit stop or two at one of the many great food and drink outlets in the Town.”

As well as the market itself, there will be plenty to keep visitors to the town centre entertained over the weekend, including The National Elf Service on the 10th December, a merry musical walkabout, and The Valentino’s Street Band who will be roaming the town centre performing a range of jazz, funk, and calypso with a festive spin. Sunday the 11th December will also see a Giant Walking Present navigating the town’s streets along with East Angles Brass playing their best Christmas set list.

Discover King’s Lynn’s pop-up venue, The Place, will also bursting with Christmas activities across the 10th and 11th December. Families can expect to enjoy free Christmas biscuit decorating with Norma’s Kitchen, Ukrainian Christmas crafting with a local refugee family, and a letter writing station for those little ones yet to post their wishlists to Santa!

Visitors to The Place can also contribute to Discover King’s Lynn’s Chain for Ukraine; a festive paper chain in Ukrainian colours designed in solidarity with Ukrainian refugees. Discover King’s Lynn hopes that people will add their own link to the chain to show Ukrainian families displaced to King’s Lynn that they are in our thoughts this Christmas.
