Vancouver Quarter to make Christmas Wishes come true

King’s Lynn’s Vancouver Quarter will be making one family’s wishes come true this Christmas.
The town’s shopping centre is asking children from across the area to post their Christmas Wishes to Santa and one lucky family will win £250 in vouchers just days before Christmas. As well as including the latest toys, games and presents they may want this year, children are being encouraged to think of others when it comes to wishes they’d really like to come true this Christmas. Perhaps they’d like to treat their granny to afternoon tea, maybe they’d really love to help those who use the town’s night shelter or food bank, or they might want to make sure that Ukrainian refugees in the area get something special for their first Christmas in King’s Lynn.

We’re also encouraging local community groups and charities to write to us with their own Christmas Wishes that we can then share with local people. Children who want to take part can find templates on the Vancouver Quarter’s website and there will also be paper copies available next to the festive post box which is being kept at The Place.

The competition opens on 27 th Novemebr 2022 and closes on 18 th December 2022. Letter writing workshops will be hosted at The Place on the day of the Christmas Lights Switch on (27 th November) and on various other dates throughout the month at pop-up locations within the Vancouver Quarter.

Vancouver Quarter centre manager Alistair Cox said: “We know that this Christmas will be tough for many people and we’d like to help where we can. As well as offering our great prize just before Christmas, we’re hoping to show that Christmas is all about making memories and doing what we can for others.”

Alongside the Christmas Wishes project, the Vancouver Quarter is doing what it can to support the local community this festive period. They are hosting a number of pop-up charity donation points including the Radio West Norfolk and Your Local Paper Toy Appeal and the NCT Clothes Bank.
